Equine Assisted Activities & Therapies
(EAAT)
Equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) are any specific center activity, such as therapeutic riding, mounted or ground activities, grooming, etc., in which participants, volunteers, instructors and horses are involved.
Challenged Champions has several available options for EAAT classes including group lessons, private lessons and horse/stable management lessons. The most popular lessons are our group lessons that take place during four different sessions throughout the year; winter, spring, summer and fall. The sessions range from seven-ten weeks in length and give the participant a one-hour lesson each week. Group lessons are limited to no more than four riders per class, which allows the instructor to work with the needs of each participant accordingly. Private lessons and horse/stable management classes are offered on an as-needed basis.
Benefits of EAAT include improvements in:
*Balance
*Fine and gross motor skills
*Hand-eye coordination
*Speech
*Breathing and circulation
*Self-confidence
*Social Skills
The cost for group lessons is $20.00 per lesson.
The cost for private or horse/stable management lessons is $25.00 per lesson.
